Bing Lee Lifestyle & Innovation Centre, Commercial Concept Proposal

The Circuit is an ambitious commercial concept by Art Decoline that reimagines the traditional Bing Lee retail experience as a vibrant, multi-level lifestyle and innovation destination.
Rather than functioning as a conventional shopping centre, the proposal brings technology, retail, hospitality, wellness, work and entertainment together within one connected urban precinct. A flagship electrical and smart-home showroom forms the heart of the concept, supported by specialty retail, fashion boutiques, artisan food markets, cafés, destination restaurants, flexible workplaces, wellness facilities, a fitness centre, children’s activity spaces and landscaped rooftop dining.
The result is an exciting vision for the future of experiential retail: a place where customers can explore products, discover new technology, meet, work, dine, exercise and spend time with family.
The design brief called for a bold commercial building capable of transforming a familiar retail brand into a memorable architectural destination. Art Decoline’s proposal responds with a distinctive identity that is highly visible from the street while remaining welcoming, active and connected at pedestrian level.
The architecture is defined by sculptural geometric façades, illuminated feature screens, warm metallic finishes, extensive glazing, textured masonry and strong black structural elements. Bing Lee’s recognisable yellow brand colour is interpreted as a series of three-dimensional fragments across the principal entrance, creating an expressive landmark that changes through light, shadow and movement.
At ground level, transparent shopfronts, landscaped walkways, outdoor dining, bicycle parking and clearly defined entrances establish an active commercial frontage. Internal circulation connects retail showrooms with food, hospitality, workplace, recreation and family-oriented spaces, encouraging visitors to move naturally through the centre and remain for longer periods.
Each interior has its own atmosphere while belonging to a consistent architectural family. Warm timber, natural stone, exposed structure, soft lighting and generous glazing create contemporary commercial interiors that feel sophisticated, comfortable and distinctly Australian. Technology showrooms provide interactive product experiences, while restaurants, cafés, wellness suites, offices, fitness spaces and children’s facilities broaden the centre’s appeal throughout the day.
The rooftop is imagined as a major destination in its own right. Native planting, sheltered dining terraces, cafés, restaurants, flexible gathering areas and panoramic views create an elevated urban garden that supports social activity and a strong evening economy.
Environmental ideas are integrated through daylight access, façade shading, adaptable tenancies, landscaped outdoor areas, native planting and opportunities for natural ventilation, rainwater collection and energy-efficient building systems.
The Circuit demonstrates how considered shopping centre design, retail architecture and commercial interior design can move beyond transactions to create experience, identity and community. It is a future-focused proposal that combines commercial performance with memorable architecture, giving the Bing Lee brand the potential to become the centre of an active lifestyle destination.

BP Oberon Urban Canopy

BP Service Station Oberon – Integrated Building, Canopy & Interior Design with 3D Visualisation.
The BP Service Station was designed as a contemporary fuel and convenience destination, combining building design, canopy architecture, and interior design into a cohesive, high-performance service station environment. The project responds to both operational efficiency and brand clarity, delivering a modern facility that enhances customer experience while meeting the technical and functional demands of a regional service station.
A key component of the design process was the use of detailed 3D visualisation, enabling the client to clearly understand the architectural form, material selection, lighting strategy, and spatial relationships prior to construction. These realistic visualisations played a critical role in client confidence and satisfaction, allowing design decisions to be reviewed, refined, and approved with clarity, significantly reducing uncertainty and ensuring alignment with the final built outcome.
The exterior design focuses on strong visual presence, clear vehicular circulation, and brand integration, while the interior design prioritises customer flow, retail visibility, and a welcoming, efficient environment for daily users. Carefully coordinated materials, finishes, and lighting enhance durability, legibility, and long-term performance.
Through an integrated approach to building design, interior design, and 3D visualisation, this project delivers a refined service station solution that balances architectural quality, commercial practicality, and client confidence, setting a new benchmark for contemporary BP service station design in regional New South Wales.
